GOD'S APPROVAL
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. Ecclesiastes 9:7
God has given us a gift of approval and of righteousness. This is attained by faith. We are freed and no longer do we have to struggle to please God with our works. We are accepted and approved by Him. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
To find significance, deep meaning, peace and contentment, you need to take what God gives you and then live to the full. This is by living a life filled with the Holy Spirit, full of good works and flowing out of the realization that God already accepts us. Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law [with its demand that you measure up before God will accept you], but under grace [with its marvelous provision of righteousness as a gift].”
God makes us aware of the reality of the gift of righteousness because it is the secret of contentment. Knowing that God accepts you enables you to handle difficult conditions with joy in your heart. Don’t allow Satan to deceive; Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Prayer
Dear Lord, I thank you for the gift of approval and of righteousness that you have given to me through Jesus Christ. Teach me to live this way, Lord, allowing you to fill all the empty places of my life and enjoying the many gifts that you give in Jesus’ name. Amen.
